We all knew and we all have heard the stories of what was coming with the Coronavirus from China, Italy and Europe, but reality really hit us on March 19, 2020 with our first Disaster Declaration dealing with COVID-19. So here we are, two weeks have passed and we have a long way to go! First, I want to take this opportunity to share my appreciation to each one of you for your work during this Coronavirus pandemic.

City Manager's Weekly Update

As you are aware, Denton County issued a Stay at Home mandate which went into effect on Wednesday, March 25 at 11:59 p.m. We updated the information to the City coronavirus page on the City website, sent a press release, an email to all our residents signed up for the CivicReady alert system, and created a graphic to help the public understand what was included in the mandate and published to all our social media channels.

The first HVBA Community Coffee of 2020 was held on Thursday at the Highland Village Municipal Complex. Commissioner Bobbie Mitchell was our guest speaker. We had nearly 60 business leaders attend the event. The Community Coffee’s are always a great networking opportunity for so many of our local businesses.
