City Manager's Weekly Update

Our first HVBA Quarterly Luncheon was held on Tuesday with over 70 people in attendance. Highland Village resident and former All-American quarterback for Baylor University and San Diego Charger quarterback Neal Jeffrey was our guest speaker. Mr. Jeffrey gave a motivating and inspirational talk that everyone enjoyed, sharing how he overcame the belief his stuttering impediment could keep him from being a public speaker. Mr. Jeffrey is currently an Associate Pastor at Prestonwood Baptist Church. He encouraged us all to have a positive attitude, dream a great dream, and show love and respect in all situations.

I attended the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) Red River States Conference on Thursday. The conference is an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow. This year’s keynote speaker was Former Navy SEAL Robert O’Neill, who explained how the SEAL’s approach strategic planning when mission failure is not an option and how that can relate to business and retail.
