2017 Rate Increase

On May 23, 2017 the City Council approved an adjustment to the City's utility rate structure, which includes a residential and commercial rate increase. The increased rate will go into effect on the November bill, reflecting October usage. The City has maintained the same utility rate for water and sewer services since 2007. Several years of wet summers, along with increased conservation efforts has resulted in reduced water sales. This coupled with increased maintenance costs has prompted the need for an adjustment to the rate structure.

The next several pages will explain the City's utility system, current rate structure, reason for an adjustment and increase, and the new rate structure. Each page will include a link at the bottom to take you to the next page. It was our goal to make this information as clear and easy to understand as possible. We've also included a link to the detailed information here.  You can also view the presentation given to City Council on May 23 (video presentation is about 40 minutes long) or the video explaining the change.
