Officer William Shaw - Personal Message

Hello, my name is William Shaw. I am originally from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., and moved to Texas about twenty years ago. I am a graduate of Tarrant County College Police Academy. Before joining law enforcement, I worked in the corporate world for 34 years and owned a couple of businesses. My college degree is in criminal justice and I have always been involved with the community. Joining the Highland Village Police Department allows me to follow my passion for service as a second career.  I have a wife and four girls and two grandchildren. On my time off, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I look forward to meeting and  serving the citizens of Highland Village.

If you ever have any questions about safety or crime please give one of us a call and we will be happy to meet with you. Our job as your AOR Officers is to monitor Area 13 for crime conducive conditions and to make certain that your questions and concerns are addressed promptly. While patrolling Area 13 we look for things such as suspicious people, suspicious vehicles, faded traffic and street signs, and children who forgot their safety helmets.

AOR 13 is comprised primarily of The Shops of Highland Village Shopping Center. AOR 13 is located in the in southwest corner of Highland Village along FM 407 and Village Parkway. We have a Police Storefront located here at 4081 Walker Creek, Suite 165, behind Whole Foods.

In regards to crime, typically in our business area we receive occasional reports of criminal mischief, shoplifting, and thefts from vehicles but other than that there are no major crimes.

The Highland Village business district is an attractive area in which to shop and run errands. Merchants of all types are represented and with the expansion of FM 407 we hope that retailers will continue to experience positive growth.
AOR 13 is a fun, safe and peaceful place to live and a delightful place to shop. Contact me if you would like more information about our AOR.
