Paying the Fine

Payment Options

Depending on the offense and the defendant’s age, most citations can be paid online or in person. However, some offenses require an appearance before the Judge. The maximum fine amounts at the Highland Village Municipal Court are:

  • Traffic violations - $200.00 plus court costs. 
  • Penal Code and Criminal Procedure violations - $500.00 plus court costs. 
  • City Ordinance violations - $2,000.00 plus court costs. 

Where can I pay my ticket?


  • In person at the Municipal Court located at 1000 Highland Village Road in Highland Village. 
  • By mail to 1000 Highland Village Road, Highland Village, Texas 75077.
  • Depending on the violation and your age, you may be able to pay your ticket online. Contact the Court at (972) 317-3660 to find out if your are eligible.

  • Cash (In person only - do not mail cash.)
  • Money Orders
  • Cashier's Checks
  • Visa/MasterCard

Payment Plans

If you plan to pay your fine but do not have all of the money by the ticket due date, below are the options available:

  • You may request a 30-day extension to pay the fine in full. Requests may be made in person, by mail, or by fax and must include the following:
    • A signed plea of guilty or no contest. 
    • Current Mailing Address
    • Phone Number and/or Email Address
    • Copy of Driver's License
Please note: If you are unable to meet the standard time payment schedule, you must contact the Court to set a court hearing to request an alternative payment method, including but not limited to, community service. 

Incomplete requests may be denied. Payments not received by the 30th day will be assessed a state mandated $15.00 Time Payment  Fee for each violation. 

  • You may request to have a payment plan set up:
    • The Court may grant you up to two months to pay your fines. Payments must be made monthly. If you are unable to pay your citation in full at the end of the two month period, contact the Court for further assistance. 
    • Requests may be made in person, by mail, or by fax and must include the following:
      • A signed plea of guilty or no contest.
      • Current Mailing Address
      • Phone Number and/or Email Address
      • Copy of Driver's License
    • There will be a state mandated $15.00 Time Payment Fee for each violation. 
  • If you are unable to meet the standard time payment schedule, you can request a hearing before the Judge. 

Please note: These options are only available if you appear on or before your citation due date. Once a warrant has been issued for the violation these options do not apply.

A conviction of an offense under a traffic law of this state, or a political subdivision of this state, may result in the assessment on your Driver's License of a surcharge under the Driver Responsibility Program.
