The Parks and Recreation Advisory Board is an advisory body to the City Council consisting of five regular members and two alternate members.

Responsibilities of the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board include:
  • Make a continuous study and inspection of the parks system
  • Follow a Master Plan (PDF) for park property, structures, facilities, athletic areas, or other improvements on City-owned parks
  • Record the adoption of standards on areas, programs, and financial support
  • Recommend to the City Council rules and regulations governing the use of facilities
  • Advise the City staff of recommendations and reasons therefore
  • Perform such other duties as the City Council may prescribe by ordinance
