Thumbprint Signature

The Highland Village Police Department is proud to have joined forces with the Texas Bankers Association to bring all businesses in Highland Village the Thumbprint Signature program.
What is it?
It is a simple, effective and inexpensive method for preventing and deterring check fraud. The deterrent aspect of the program is its strongest advantage.
How does it work?
The program is very simple. All check writers will be asked to apply their right thumb to an inkless touch pad fingerprinting device that leaves no ink stain or residue when writing checks checks. The Thumbprint Signature will be placed on the check between the signature and memo lines.
Why do we need it?
In order for the Highland Village Police Department to accept any fraudulent check reports from local businesses, the Thumbprint Signature must be on the check.
How do we get started?
The Highland Village Police Department is supplying all businesses with their initial stock of inkpads (one for each register) as well as Thumbprint Signature decals to be placed at entrances and/or near cash registers. It is the responsibility of the owner / manager of each business to train the employees on the process.
