The Highland Village Criminal Investigations Unit (CIU) is responsible for investigating and solving crimes that occur in our community.
The Criminal Investigations Unit currently consists of Corporal Doug Bell and Detective Andrea Musick King.
Our detectives investigated 411 reported crimes in 2005. For more information on the types of offenses investigated, visit our Crime Statistics page .
Detectives are police officers - just like the patrol officers you meet in the community. To help assist the Department in maintaining an average of four officers on patrol at a time, detectives are assigned to patrol duties as needed.
Property Room
The Highland Village Police Department operates a spacious property and evidence storage facility that is maintained by the officers in this unit.
All property in this room is tracked using a sophisticated barcode system which begins with the officers direct entry of property and evidence. From there, this system will track all movement of the property into the facility, to court, to destruction or back to the owner.
If you have any questions about the property room or we have property that you believe belongs to you, please contact Sergeant Sheri Morrison.
