On Monday of this week we were forward a copy of the receipt of cancellation notice, dated March 14, 2008, of a Retailers Off Premise License from the TABC regarding Highland Wholesale Club at 2150 Valley Ridge Ct. Ste 150, Highland Village. We were also notified that Highland Wholesale has vacated the building and is no longer warehousing in Highland Village.
The Unity Park Elevated Storage is online and operating as anticipated. Utility staff set up pressure monitors to verify the pressure increase and is seeing an 8psi to 10psi increase City wide.
Utility staff performed a final walk through on the Public Works infrastructure located at the Central Fire Station. A small punch list was created.
On Monday, the Senior All-Stars met at the Highland Shores Community Center for snacks and game day. (14 Residents and 6 Nonresidents attended.)
On Thursday, the Senior All-Stars met at the Highland Shores Community Center for game day. The All-Stars all enjoyed a potluck lunch together. (27 Residents and 16 Nonresidents attended.)
On Friday, 37 of the Senior All-Stars went on a day trip to the Choctaw Casino.
Drainage staff monitored inlets during the rain event this week and removed debris from clogged areas and cleaned bar ditches this week along Highland Shores Boulevard to allow for proper drainage.
Wes Nienhuser and the Pilot Knoll crew installed new flooring in the gate house.
Tony Palesano repaired plumbing fixtures at Unity Park and Copperas Branch Park.
North and South crews started mowing and turf maintenance.
All crews passed out notification flyers to all residences that are adjacent to where the new trail construction will take place. The new trail construction will begin on Monday, March 24, 2008.
The Pilot Knoll Crew, North Crew and Tony Palesano set up tables at the Highland Shores Community Center. On Saturday, March 22, 2008, the Highland Village Library Foundation is hosting a large book sell. The book sale will benefit the Highland Village Library Foundation, Highland Village public school libraries and the Highland Village Senior All-Stars. The crews transported over 9,000 books from storage to the Community Center. We greatly appreciate all the help!
Monty Hoke, Utility Tech 1, attended a Wastewater Collections class sponsored by TEEX this week in Carrollton.
David Clark, Utility Superintendent, attended a backflow prevention class this week in Keller.
Mayor Costa assisted Meals on Wheels on March 19, 2008. Mayor Costa along with area mayors prepared and delivered meals to citizens in their respective communities.
Mayor Pro Tem Fiorenza attended the Greater Dallas Chamber luncheon on March 19, 2008. United States Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison was the guest speaker.
