Denton County observance of New Year's Day

According to Denton County Commissioner Bobbie Mitchell, Friday, December 31st is the designated day for the County's observance of New Year's Day holiday. However, since the 31st is the second biggest/busiest day of the tax collection year the Tax Office will be open on the 31st and will take January 3rd as their New Year's Day holiday.
