Andrew Boyd and Michelle Burke shot a video of dogs and cats available for adoption. At the time of the shoot we had 19 animals for adoption. Andrew is creating a bi-weekly adopt a pet video series to run on HVTV and the city website.

Calls for Service: Week of July 30 - August 5
Fire Personnel attended the Camp on the Lake's Super Hero Week on Friday. Firefighters gave an hour long presentation regarding fire safety and fire prevention for the campers in attendance; ages ranged from 6 to 12 years old.
Police:
This week, the police department responded to 170 calls for service, made 106 traffic contacts, made 8 arrests, responded to 1 traffic accident and performed 411 community policing activities.
Police Officer J. McCally started his field training program this week. He was officially sworn in as a police officer for the Highland Village Police Department on Monday.
J. McCally (first name is actually the initial "J") has previous experience with Hurst PD as a Reserve Officer and also in the construction consulting field as an analyst and manager. J lives in Flower Mound and has a Bachelors Degree from the University of North Texas. We welcome him to our team and look forward to working with him in the future
Police Auxiliary Tim Morgan completed his VIP training and is now authorized to "solo" in the VIP car. Thanks Tim!
The Animal Care Unit donated over twenty bags of dog food to Fort Worth Animal Care and Control. Many times we get enough food donations that we can't use it all so we are able to donate to other animal care centers that aren't as lucky as we are!
STREET / UTILITY DIVISIONS PROJECTS
Streets:
The Street Division painted the Highland Village Elementary school zones and will continue painting through next week.
The Street Division continues working on the Spring Oaks turn-around. The area is all excavated and ready for forms and rebar.
PARKS DEPARTMENT
Parks crews have been cutting out the infield lines on the Unity baseball fields, removing worn spots and replacing them with fresh sod and grading the skinned infields in preparation for the fall baseball season.
Parks crews have been replacing sod and over-seeding the soccer fields at Unity and Victoria in preparation for the fall soccer season.
This is the eighth week of Kids Kamp at Briarhill Middle School. The field trips this week included Bowling, Flower Mound Community Activity Center, Ice Skating, and Old Town Swimming Pool.
Senior All Stars
The Highland Village Senior All Stars met on Monday (16 attendees) and Thursday (25 attendees) for game day.
On Wednesday, 11 Senior All Stars met at Barnes and Noble for Book Club.
Nine Senior All Stars met on Tuesday for open game time.
Fifteen Senior All Stars will attend the Ringling Bros. & Barnum and Bailey Circus on Saturday.
