Council Approves Funding for Traffic Signal at FM 2499 and Highland Shores Boulevard

At the May 25 meeting, Council unanimously approved the funding and agreement with TxDOT for the construction of a traffic signal at the intersection of FM 2499 and

Highland Shores/Castlewood Boulevard

"The City of Highland Village is proud to approve funding for the signal light installation at

Village Parkway
and
Highland Shores Boulevard
. Funding of this signal will help to fulfill the promise made to our citizens to mitigate the impact of FM 2499. This signal was discussed during the public hearing process and is now coming to fruition. Traffic control and mitigation will continue to be a priority for the City of Highland Village as we move closer to opening of FM 2499 through our city,” stated Mayor Scott McDearmont

Also at this meeting, Council approved the site plan for a Buffalo Wild Wings to be located at the Shops at Highland Village.

During the City Manager report, Michael Leavitt informed residents of a recreational needs assessment survey currently underway. The survey will help city staff determine recreational programs in which residents will participate. Residents can click on the “Recreational Survey” button on the city web site to complete the short survey. Mr. Leavitt also invited residents to attend the 2010 Highland Village Red, White & Blue Festival on Saturday, June 5. The festival activities include:
