Highland Village Road Water Line Construction

Back To News

Construction on the water line replacement along Highland Village Road will begin on June 24. This construction will be from Lake Vista to Brazos Boulevard. View Map. There will be traffic delays in the area. It is anticipated this construction will take approximately 3-4 months. The City has secured a contractor for this project.

The project consists of replacing the older water lines in the system. The older water lines are susceptibel to breaking/cracking and often require significant repair work. These older pipelines will be replaced with polyvinyl chloride (PVC) pipe. The City has been using PVC pipe since it was readily available and all the newer water lines in the City consist of PVC pipe material. PVC is a more dependable and durable pipe and it is inert and not easily susceptible to corrosion.

It is anticipated all work will be performed inside the City right of way and existing easements. Any grass, sprinklers, landscape, mail boxes or concrete sidewalks and driveway approaches disturbed during this project will be restored to original or better condition.

Questions or comments regarding this project should be directed to the City Utility department at 972-317-2989.
