At the May 11 meeting, Mayor Scott McDearmont, Council members Bill Irwin, Louis Robichaux IV and John McGee were sworn in to office. All four members ran unopposed for their seats on Council. For the first time since Highland Village was incorporated in 1963, the City Council election was cancelled. At this meeting, Council appointed Louis Robichaux IV as Mayor Pro Tem and Charlotte Wilcox as Deputy Mayor Pro Tem.
In other appointments, Council voted to name former Mayor Dianne Costa as First Alternate Representative to the Denton county Transportation Authority
Prior to the Council meeting a reception was held for outgoing Mayor Dianne Costa and Council member Don Combs. Letters and proclamations were presented to both by our local, state and federal legislators.
