Scott Kriston reports that the TXDOT FM 2499 section 4 project contractor is in the process of barricade adjustments & removal at the FM 2499 connection at FM 407. The contractor will finish demolishing & pouring the concrete the coping walls, cut outs, side walks and driveway connections on the north bound outside lane as weather permits.
COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT
Sue Thompson reports that several staff members and Councilman Bill Meek, representing the Highland Village Business Association, participated in the joint ribbon cutting with the Flower Mound Chamber of Commerce for the Associates of Surgery new office located in Flower Mound. Dr. Scott McDearmont officially cut the ribbon for the new facility.

Chief Tatum, Assistant Chief Collier, Captain Nokes, Captain Jones and Captain Willis attended the Officers meeting on Monday.
Nancy Sharp attended Leadership Lewisville' Education Day on Thursday. Part of the day included shadowing a Principal, touring a charter school and listening to keynote speakers.
Fire Calls for Service
Police:
This week, the police department responded to 175 calls for service, made 62 traffic contacts, made 5 arrests, responded to 3 traffic accidents and performed 356 community policing activities.
The Girl Scouts came in last night to give officers some Girl Scout cookies as their way of thanking them for what they do.
The Police Department will be getting three (3) patrol cars outfitted with the automated license plate scanners on April 28th and 29th. This was made possible through a grant submitted by Cpt Blount and recently approved.
The Police Department conducted an Easter deployment last weekend at Copperas Branch Park. All went well and everyone had a great time.
Lake Dallas High School students had a field trip to Unity Park where Corporal April Roppolo assisted. They were fishing at the pond.
Supervisor Brenda Grove received her Advanced Communicator Certification from TCLEOSE.
STREET / UTILITY DIVISIONS PROJECTS
Scott Kriston reports that the MSC project contractor installed lime stabilization to the parking paving area located on the east side of the lot. It is anticipated that concrete will be poured mid April, weather permitting. The motor pool & fuel pumps will be closed until the paving is complete. The dry wall & painting contractors continue to work inside the Parks & Rec building. The framing contractor is installing the wood & steel framing for the Public Works building. The electrical & duct work rough is being installed in the PWB. The equipment building and the storage building steel is currently being installed as weather permits.
Scott Kriston met with BW2 Engineering , Inc. & discussed the status of all open Public Works projects.
Scott Kriston held a bid opening for the Oak St GSR Pump Station Improvements project. The bid is being reviewed by staff prior to moving forward.
Scott Kriston held a pre-construction meeting with the contractor for the Lanier Way cul-de-sac project. The contractor anticipates completing the project in 3 weeks, weather permitting.
Scott Kriston met with BWSC & UTRWD regarding BWSC's water service to 17 properties along FM 407 that will be affected by the FM 407 widening project.
Scott Kriston met with AMS Utiliserv to discuss the City's water meter reading contract.

The Street Division finish the concrete street repairs at 3409 Canterbury Drive. This area of street was failing due to water getting beneath the pavement and causing the base to fail.
The Street Division crew crack sealed Highland Village Road from 948 Highland Village Rd. to I 35E and in the Montclair subdivision and will continue through the next week.
PARKS DEPARTMENT
Parks and Recreation staff is performing regular maintenance of our parks and municipal areas.
Parks staff has prepared the soccer and baseball fields for games this weekend.
Tony Palesano and Wes Nienhuser are installing drinking and misting fountains near the amenity stations on City Trail.
Staff is finishing construction of the sidewalk and ADA ramp at Lower Sellmeyer Park.
Parks staff worked the gate house and parking at Copperas Branch Park on Easter Sunday due to the high volume of visitors.
Staff made repairs and adjustments to the fountain at Marauder Park.
Park staff welcomes the addition of the seasonal employees that work with the crews during the mowing season.
The Highland Village Road Sidewalk project is seventy five percent complete. You should expect the sidewalk to be complete within the next week, weather permitting.
The Lake Vista Trail Connection project is twenty five percent complete. You should expect the contractor to begin work in that area within two weeks.
Parks, Police and Fire staff met to discuss upcoming special events within Highland Village. The events we discussed are:
1. Young Life Adventure Race - April 24th
2. Paws for a Cause Dog Walk - April 24th
3. Running Moms Rock 5k Run - April 24th
4. H.V. Spring Clean Up - May 1st
5. Bass Champs Tournament - May 15th
If you are looking for an event to compete in running or biking, there are three to choose from on April 24th, one event includes kayaking.
Senior All Stars
The Highland Village Senior All Stars met on Monday (17 attendees) and Thursday (21 attendees) for game day.
Nine Senior All Stars met on Tuesday for open game time.
Sixteen Highland Village Senior All Stars met at Barnes and Noble for Book Club on Wednesday.
On Friday, 24 Highland Village Senior All Stars took a trip to Ennis to look at the bluebonnets and wildflowers
