City Manager to Enter into an Interlocal Agreement with Lake Cities Fire

Back To News

At the October 9 meeting, Council approved a resolution authorizing the City Manager to enter into an interlocal agreement with Lake Cities Fire Department to provide E911 and radio communications services. The Lake Cities Fire Department provides service to the communities of Lake Dallas, Corinth, Hickory Creek and Shady Shores. Lake Cities Fire Department will pay Highland Village $35,416.67 annually for this service, with an annual review scheduled to ensure fair compensation and response. This agreement will not require Highland Village to hire additional personnel or have any effect on the current level of service provided to the residents of Highland Village.

During the City Manager report, Michael Leavitt invited residents to an open house scheduled for Saturday, October 20 from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. at the current Fire Station located at 948 Highland Village Road. On November 6 the City will hold a bond election to consider two propositions. The first is to fund a new Municipal Service Center and the second is to fund renovations to the existing Fire Station to make it an interim Senior Center. Information will be provided on the two bond propositions and tours of the current facility will be given.
