Ice Storm Warning
The National Weather Service has issued an Ice Storm Warning in effect from 6pm Monday until 12pm Wednesday for Denton County and the City of Highland Village. An Ice Storm Warning means severe winter weather conditions are expected or are occurring.
Periods of Freezing Rain will start occurring after sunset Monday and temperatures should remain below freezing through Wednesday, resulting in significant ice accumulations of at least 1/4 inch with isolated amounts of 1/2 inch or more. Power outages are also possible with any ice accumulations. Travel may become hazardous and even impossible as conditions worsen. City of Highland Village Emergency Management officials will be monitoring the situation closely and will update citizens as conditions warrant. Please monitor local radio and televisions as well as the National Weather Service for updates.
