Extreme Wildfire Threat

This Message is brought to you by Emergency Management Officials for the City of Highland Village – Extreme Wildfire Threat this weekend and into next week. Multiple cold fronts are expected to pass through the Highland Village Area this weekend bringing with them very high winds and colder temperatures.  This front accompanied by record low humidities and near-drought conditions will result in an extreme wildfire threat this weekend and into next week.  Denton County and the City of Highland Village are still under a burn ban.  Avoid lighting any outside fires. Be very mindful of conditions when welding or using any lawn equipment or machinery that may produce sparks.  Avoid parking vehicles in grassy areas when possible.  Local Emergency Management officials are watching conditions carefully and will update citizens as conditions warrant.
