On November 6 at 3:32 p.m. Highland Village, Flower Mound and Lewisville Fire Department responded to a residential structure fire at 434 Copperas Trail in Highland Village. Upon arrival firefighters encountered heavy interior fire and smoke and initiated an aggressive interior attack. Due to the intensity of the fire, the fire reached three-alarm status calling in additional units from Argyle, Coppell and Double Oak. The residents were not home at the time of the fire and no injuries were sustained. The Denton County Fire Marshal's Office and Highland Village Fire Department are investigating the cause of the fire.
138 fifth graders received LETS certificates on Friday Nov 7. Corporal April Roppolo and Corporal Jered Cameron assisted with the program. Scott Kriston attended the TX DOT FM 2499 phase 4 weekly project meeting. The TX DOT FM 2499 project status is as follows: Currently the installation of the stormwater pipe continues on the south end, retaining wall construction continues on the south end of the project at Clifton and near Castlewood, they continue to install the drill shafts for the proposed bridges on the south end of the project at Poindexter Branch of Lake Lewisville. Franchise utilities are working on relocating their infrastructure that needs to be relocated inside the TX DOT right of way. CoServ is anticipated to start relocating electric poles & buried electric south of Highland Shores Blvd. next week. They are relocating the poles to 1-foot inside of the TXDOT right of way so TXDOT can install a proposed retaining wall. Time Warner CATV is anticipated to start relocating approximately 800 feet of buried wire located south of Highland Shores Blvd. over the next ten days. TXDOT is verifying drainage easements along the entire project. Explorer Pipeline completed the relocation of their gas line that cross the TXDOT right of way in Highland Village, they are currently backfilling the trench slowly to get proper compaction results. Monday & Tuesday, November 10th & 11th, TXDOT is proposing to install a culvert box across the right of way located at the Railroad crossing, Wednesday & Thursday, November 12th & 13th, TX DOT is proposing to install a culvert box across the right of way located near the Southwood well lot, Friday & Saturday, November 14th & 15th, TX DOT is proposing to install a culvert box across the right of way located north of Fairland Dr. Flagmen will control traffic during this process, it is anticipated to take 2 days to install each of the box culvert across the right of way weather permitting.

Utility crews relocated a section of 12-inch water line near the Citi Bank so a stormwater inlet box can be installed for the FM 2499 phase 4 project.
Utility crews made 19 of the 37 point repairs that were a result of the 2007 I&I smoke testing project. The remaining point repairs are scheduled to be addressed over the next few months.
