Back To News

At the October 14 meeting, Council postponed consideration of an ordinance amendment to extend the hours of establishments that sell alcoholic beverages. Currently it is unlawful for those establishments to sell alcoholic beverages after midnight. The ordinance would extend the hours of these establishments to 2:00 a.m. Council postponed this item and requested a public hearing be held to allow time for residents to learn of the proposed change and provide comments. A public hearing will be held at the Council meeting scheduled for November 11, 2008.

Also at this meeting, Council appointed boards and commission members for two-year terms beginning immediately. Council appointed Angela Kreig and Virginia Walters to the Board of Ethics, Johnny Rae and Thomas Hobbs to the Media Communications Committee, Kathy Hudson, Jonathan Bailey, Ben Casey and Kim Silva to the Parks and Recreation Advisory Board and William Meek and Dan Franklin to the Zoning Board of Adjustments. All terms expire September 30, 2010.
