Council Unanimously Approved a Site Plan

Back To News

At the May 27 meeting, Council unanimously approved a site plan for the construction of a 12,858 square foot building to be located in the Marketplace at Highland Village on FM 407. The building is east of the McAllister’s Deli building and was previously approved as a combination bank and Starbucks drive through. The site plan identifies the building as lease space with each tenant responsible for the finish-out of their space.

Also at this meeting Council considered an amendment to the ordinance and concept plan for the east side of the Marketplace at Highland Village. Opus West requested an amendment to the side yard set back from the approved 150’ to 100’. Council postponed this item until the meeting on June 10.

During the Mayor’s announcements, representatives from Studio B thanked Council for their support of Studio B and presented Council a framed photo of some of the students involved with Studio B. The theater is the only non-profit theater in Highland Village and offers young and old the opportunity to participate in the production of plays. Mayor Pro Tem Scott McDearmont recognized the state champion and district champion sports teams from Marcus High School with a banner congratulating all the teams.

During the City Manager report, Michael Leavitt invited residents to attend the annual Highland Village Days Red, White & Blue Festival scheduled for June 7, 2008.
