Fire Department Community Services

The Highland Village Fire Department's primary focus is to provide a safe environment for the residents of Highland Village through a commitment to involvement and proactive fire safety and prevention activities and programs.

CPR Classes

The Highland Village Fire Department conducts monthly CPR training programs for our residents and those in the neighboring communities. To date, we have reached our goal of providing over 400 residents with valuable CPR, Healthcare Provider and 1st Aid training skills.

All classes are taught by the Highland Village firefighters who are certified by the American Heart Association as instructors. These courses are American Heart Association based modules designed to educate all ages in the proper method of assisting someone in cardiac arrest.

Cost is $25 for residents of Highland Village and $45 for non-residents to attend the CPR class. Call or e-mail the Fire Department for more information or to sign up. Classes are usually scheduled the first or second Thursday of each month.

Home Inspections

Sure you change the batteries in your smoke detector on a regular basis, but will it notify you in time in the event of a fire? The Highland Village Fire Department can answer that and other questions that will keep you and your family safe. And it's free. The Fire Department encourages each resident to schedule a Home Fire Safety Inspection once each year. A crew will come to your residence to identify possible life safety hazards and make recommendations for corrections of these hazards. Special attention will be placed on smoke detector placement and function, fire extinguisher testing, and a home fire escape plan. Please schedule your inspection by call the Fire Prevention Division at 972-317-0890.

Home Protection Checklist

The National Fire Protection Agency recommends the following to make certain your home is safe:

Public Education

The Highland Village Fire Department strives to bring public education and awareness to the residents of Highland Village. We do this through presentations at the local schools, tours at the fire station, neighborhood block parties and many other ways. If you would like more information, please call us at 972-317-0890.

Of course, you can always stop by and as long as we are in, we'll be happy to show you around.
