Garbage & Recycling
- Curbside trash and recycling carts are emptied once a week (even on days that fall on a Holiday) between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m. on your collection day. Click here to look up your collection day.
- Garbage and recycling services are billed by Waste Management, Inc. at a rate of $13.40 per household and at a discounted rate of $12.17 for senior citizens.
- Please place your cart at the curb with the handle facing the curb.
Electronic Products Donation/ Recycling
Waste Management does not currently accept old televisions, computer monitors, and other electronic waste products for regular pickup. Highland Village residents can properly dispose of their obsolete electronic products through several means, including:
- Best Buy's e-cycle program- Best Buy will take just about anything electronic, including tube TVs up to 32" and flat-panel TVs and monitors up to 60", DVD players, computer monitors, audio and video cables, cell phones, and more. Best Buy charges $10 for televisions and monitors, but you immediately receive a $10 Best Buy gift card good toward future purchase. Please follow the link for more information.

Yard Waste
Highland Village is an environmentally conscious community! Yard waste is collected on Mondays so it can be composted. Please:
- Bundle your brush, grass, yard trimmings, and leaves and place in either brown paper bags or in containers.
- DO NOT place your yard waste in plastic bags as these are not biodegradable.
- If you are using a container, please remove lids; Waste Management will NOT pickup your yard waste if there is a lid on your container(s).
- Brush and limbs must be bundled in lengths no more than 4’ and the weight must be less than 40 lbs (manageable for 1 person to pick-up).
