What is eConnect?

The City of Highland Village eConnect service is a group of broadcast e-mail lists that are used to provide information on topics of interest. This enables the City of Highland Village to more effectively and efficiently provide information to the public.

What is a Broadcast E-mail List?

Broadcast e-mail is simply a one way e-mail message that is sent to multiple subscribers. This online service and provide information to many people through a simple single message. Unlike other e-mail lists or groups, subscribers never see other subscribers addresses, and there is no "reply to all".

Is the information I provide when I subscribe private?

The information that we collect for subscription is subject to our online privacy policy which can be found here.

What types of lists are available?

The different lists can be viewed here.

How do I subscribe?

By clicking the Sign Up link and selecting the Subscribe check box, you'll have the opportunity enter your email address and check a check box to indicate what subscription lists you'd like to subscribe. After you submit your request, you should receive an automated message within a few minutes from each list you subscribed. This e-mail you'll receive will also have a link that you must click to confirm your subscription. If you do not confirm your subscription, you will not receive messages sent to that group, even though you requested a subscription. This is to prevent someone from signing up someone else without their permission.

How do I unsubscribe?

You may unsubscribe just like you subscribed but by selecting the Unsubscribe check box. You can also simply click on the unsubscribe link that is available at the end of all of the messages from the list.

Someone signed me up for this list without my permission - how do I remove myself from the list?

If you receive the e-mail with the confirmation link, but never click on the link to confirm, you should never receive messages sent to the group that your e-mail address was subscribed to.

Oops! I accidentally confirmed the subscription - but I didn't sign up for this. What do I do?

Simply click on the unsubscribe link that is available at the end all of the messages from the list.

Ok, I'm signed up and confirmed - but I'm not getting any messages!

Each e-mail list has a different schedule, and your list may not be sent on a regular schedule. If you have subscribed and confirmed your subscription, and are still having problems receiving the messages, please contact the Webmaster at webmaster@highlandvillage.org
