
Dianne Costa was elected Mayor in May 2006 and re-elected again in 2008. Ms. Costa has served on the City Council since 2002, and during her tenure she served as Deputy Mayor Pro Tem and Mayor Pro Tem.
Ms. Costa is co-owner of Sharp Focus Centers for counseling, education and mediation (conflict resolution, civil and advanced family cases). Ms. Costa has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Family Studies, with a minor in Government, from Texas Woman's University.
Ms. Costa has served on the Parks and Recreation Strategic Planning Committee, Community Center Blue Ribbon Committee, Denton County Child Protective Services Board and Highland Village Women's Club as the Outreach Chairman.
Ms. Costa is currently a member on the following: Texas Association of Mediators (TAM), National Council on Family Relations (NCFR), Rockpointe Church - Pastoral Care and Finance Chair, and is a Charter Member of the Highland Village Police Auxiliary. Ms. Costa was appointed to serve as a member on the Texas Municipal League Resolutions Committee and the Committee on General Government.
Ms. Costa was the recipient of the 2000 Highland Village Police Department Community Service Award.
Ms. Costa, husband Dennis and their sons have lived in Highland Village since 1994.
