The mission of the City Secretary's Office is to provide exceptional and professional customer service to the public, City Council, and city staff when responding to requests for city documents, municipal election information, records management, and municipal government procedures (processes).

The City Secretary's Office provides staff support to the City Council and manages the preservation of official records of the City of Highland Village in accordance with the Texas State Library and Archives Commission Records Retention Schedule.  These types of records include, but are not limited to: minutes, ordinances, resolutions, agendas, and election records.  The City Secretary also serves as the Election Administrator for municipal elections, and as such, coordinates and administers each regular and special municipal election.  As the Public Information Coordinator, the City Secretary is responsible for providing documents requested under the Public Information Act.
