Do you want to serve your City and fellow residents? The city secretary’s office accepts applications from interested citizens who would like to volunteer their time to the City. In September each year, the City Council appoints volunteers to serve two-year terms on various Boards and Commissions which serve as advisory groups to Council and staff. City Council may also make appointments throughout the year to fill vacancies or to establish special ad hoc committees. As a volunteer your expertise will be utilized by Council and staff to shape the future of Highland Village. You will also benefit from learning how the City operates and forms policy.
Information regarding each Board and Commission is available on the City’s website. All volunteers must be residents of Highland Village and qualified voters. In order to be considered for appointment, you must fill out a volunteer application which is available online or you may contact the city secretary’s office to request an application by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at (972) 899-5132. If you are interested in serving your community and want to be considered by Council for this year’s appointments, please complete an application and return it to the city secretary’s office no later than Tuesday, July 31, 2018. Applications received will remain on file for one year from date of receipt.
