Highland Village Fire Department Joins the Rescue Efforts in South Texas

HVFD Hurricane Harvey

The Highland Village Fire Department deployed an engine and two personnel to aid the Hurricane Harvey emergency response in South Texas. Lake CitiesFire Department sent two of their personnel as well. As part of the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System assets, the engine and personnel from Highland Village are part of a team from North Texas currently deployed to serve in Santa Fe, Texas.

We have received calls from residents wishing to donate and contribute to the relief efforts currently underway as well as help once the flood waters have receded. It is recommended to donate cash to a reputable organization, such as the American Red Cross or the Salvation Army. Experts say the recovery from Hurricane Harvey is going to be a long process and the needs will likely change over time. Cash donations to the reputable non-profit of your choice will allow them to put your gift to use where it can best benefit those in need. It is also suggested that people might want to give some money now for immediate relief, but save some of their charitable dollars for later, when they might have an even greater impact.
