City Manager's Weekly Update

Copperas Branch Park opened to the public on Monday this week. There was quite a bit of work that needed to be done to ready the park for public use. The opening of the park was truly a team effort. We offered residents the opportunity to visit and use the park at no charge until Monday, August 13. If you have not visited the park yet, I encourage you to check it out this weekend.

City Manager's Weekly Update

The City contract with Community Waste Disposal for solid waste and recycling service begins on September 3. With the new contract residents have the option to exchange their existing recycling cart for a larger cart. Residents must fill out a form requesting the larger cart by August 17 to have their cart exchanged on their regular collection day the last week of August. Cart exchanges will continue to take place at a later date for those who submit forms after August 17.

Mayor Wilcox and I attended a DCTA luncheon round table discussion on Thursday along with the Mayors and City Managers from both the City of Denton and the City of Lewisville as well as each board representative from the member cities. It has been several years since the member cities have had the opportunity to meet and discuss issues concerning the operations of DCTA.
