Officer Sommers - Personal Message
My name is Nick Sommers and I was born in North Texas. I graduated from Richland College with an Associate of Art Degree and I am working on my Bachelor’s in Criminal Justice. I am a graduate of the Collin County Law Enforcement Academy in McKinney, Texas. Prior to entering Law Enforcement I worked in corporate security for a number of years. For the past 15 years I have been serving in the United States Marine Corps and I am currently in the reserves. I am a major car enthusiast and am very involved in physical fitness.
If you ever have any questions about safety or crime please give one of us a call and we will be happy to meet with you. Our job as your AOR Officers is to monitor Area 5 for crime conducive conditions and to make certain that your questions and concerns are addressed promptly. While patrolling Area 5 we look for things such as suspicious people, suspicious vehicles, faded traffic and street signs, and children who forgot their safety helmets. There are approximately 420 homes, and 1,350 residents AOR 5.
AOR 5 is located in the north central section of Highland Village between Highland Village Road and Lewisville Lake.
Traffic is not usually a concern in the neighborhoods of AOR 5, but remember to watch for pedestrians along Highland Village Road. Also, be cautious around hills and curves, especially back near the lake.
In regards to crime, residents should be aware of construction near their homes and be watchful for suspicious persons or vehicles in their neighborhoods. Construction site thefts occasionally occur and residents are our best resource to notify us of unusual activity.
