Recreation Internship (Temporary) $10.00 Hourly
Under direction of the Recreation Coordinator, plans, organizes and provides supervision and oversight for assigned recreation activities, services, facilities, special events, classes, camps, field trips and programs; conducts outreach and marketing activities with users, donors, sponsors and community groups and performs related work as required. Recreation/Special Events Interns are expected to exercise a high degree of expertise, initiative and independent decision-making to insure customer satisfaction. Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma with course work at a four-year college or university in recreation administration, physical education, leisure services or a related field.
Kids Kamp Counselor (Part Time Seasonal-Summer) $9.25 Hourly
Under direct supervision, the purpose of this position is to oversee and conduct activities and planned programs for the City of Highland Village Summer Day Camp. Counselor must relate to children with courtesy, respect, tolerance, and patience while supervising groups of children ages 6 to 12 years. Minimum Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older, successfully completed a course in first aid and CPR, and must have a valid Texas driver's license.
Part Time Building Attendant $11.00 Hourly
Under general supervision, incumbents in this position perform a variety of duties in providing support to the users of the Robert & Lee Duval Center. This includes opening and closing the facility to renters; answering questions and resolving problems during events; performing some light janitorial duties; monitoring building capacities; ensuring activities are in compliance with the Center rules and regulations; following City of Highland Village policies in the event of an emergency or security problem; and ensuring renters fulfill responsibilities. Successful candidate must be able to work variable hours, including mornings, late evenings and weekends. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years or older. Must have knowledge of materials and equipment used in public facilities (examples: custodial products, commercial furniture, microphones, CD player, movie screen set up) and have previous experience and/or training working with the public; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
